THE MIRACLE THEATER FOUNDATION

A celebration of CREATIVITY & SUSTAINABILITY

Vision
OUR GOAL is to inspire community connection by building pathways to sustainable jobs in Inglewood's growing sports and entertainment ecosystem.

Whether an aspiring artist, a budding sound engineer, or an upstart chef, The Miracle Theater Foundation is facilitating ways to build professional careers in venue and hospitality operations in the local, world-class Inglewood venues.
OUR MISSION is to support arts and culture in downtown Inglewood by providing access to workforce development, job training, and artist residencies. We believe hands-on experience side by side with working professionals helps develop critical learning skills for working in live performance settings: booking, box office, stagehands, sound and lighting, marketing, and publicity.

Our Artist-in-Residency program provides mentorship and a professional stage to develop the artist's craft, build an audience, and learn the different facets of the business of entertainment. Precisely, as Inglewood becomes a global destination, we provide pathways to sustainable careers in the sports and entertainment industry.

About the Foundation.

The Miracle Theater Foundation believes in the transformational power of artistic expression.

Art brings people together, encourages empathy, and creates meaningful connections that foster a more fulfilling, compassionate world.
When local creators are uplifted, they enrich their communities in powerful, influential ways.
Our goal is to inspire community connection and strengthen economic growth in the creative arts throughout the city of Inglewood and Greater Los Angeles.
We know that art facilitates change, especially when it is experiential. As we carry out our mission to fund enriching cultural events, we envision a future where neighbors share a mutual respect, thoughtful discussions inspire social change, while schools and businesses thrive.

MEET the Founders/ community ADVOCATES

Mariana Weber Smith and Owen Smith share a deep connection to the world of arts, music and entertainment. Mariana became fascinated with theater after experiencing opera as a young girl. She is grateful to her parents for introducing her to “Mozarteum Joven”, a youth organization committed to providing access to classical music. After obtaining a Bachelors in Visual Arts, Mariana pursued a career as a character makeup artist for opera and ballet at the world renowned Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She has always loved the collaborative process to accomplish a shared vision on the stage.

Owen's parents owned the only independent bookstore in St. Augustine, Florida which helped cultivate his entrepreneurial spirit and appreciation for storytelling. From working at a start-up digital marketing and content creation company in the early 2000s to playing a leadership role in technical production for 12 seasons on “American Idol”, Owen has participated in several leading trends over the course of his 25 year career in the entertainment industry.

Today, as the proud co-owners and co-operators of The Miracle Theater, Mariana and Owen have combined their experiences in arts, culture and the entertainment industry with their shared love and appreciation for creative expression to build a home for cultural events in historic downtown Inglewood.

"We want artists and community members to feel like they are coming home."
