Born 2 Reign: The Story of King David

The workshop performance of “Born 2 Reign” returns to the City of Inglewood May 2nd-3rd with 3 shows that will take us to a world where influence is the crown. And the label? That’s the kingdom. It’s the Modern story of King David inspired by the Bible, Tanakh and Quran. Blending hip-hop, gospel, spoken word, R&B, and cinematic storytelling, this is not a traditional musical. It is a concert, a revival, and a reckoning. The story follows David, a gifted songwriter rising from obscurity as the reigning label president Saul begins to unravel. Alongside him are Jonathan, who chooses covenant over blood; Michal, torn between love and legacy; Eliab and the Jesse Boys, the overlooked brothers; Mephibosheth and the Lodebar crew, survivors counted out too early; and Bathsheba and Uriah, whose presence exposes the cost of unchecked power and Samuel and Nathania who set the stage for all to come: all surrounded by an electrifying cast of voices, bodies, and stories. At its core, Born 2 Reign asks one dangerous question: Why would hell invest so much in you… unless you were Born 2 Reign? This is a story about delayed, not denied. About knowing who you are before the world decides for you.
