Myron McKinley “Sound Alchemist” Album Release Concert Myron McKinley is easily one of most innovative and sophisticated musicians performing today, seamlessly fusing together heady jazz, warm soul and R&B with seriously greasy funk and elements of hip hop and EDM, for a completely unique musical experience. A virtuosic pianist, producer and composer, McKinley is the current Musical Director and keyboardist with the legendary group Earth Wind and Fire, a position he’s held for the last 14 years. A long-time secret weapon of many top acts, Myron has also toured with Grammy award winner Whitney Houston, Kenny Lattimore, En Vogue, Philip Bailey and Stanley Clarke (who has mentored Myron throughout his development as an artist.) Myron’s debut solo record release, “Sound Alchemist” is hugely ambitious in its impetus to shatter the boundaries and stimulate the evolution of jazz. As it’s name implies, the album is a learned thesis of sonic exploration and experimentation written and produced by McKinley as a mélange of contemporary, straight-ahead and fusion jazz; hip hop, R&B and soul; and multicultural nuance.Joined on stage by the incomparable Myron McKinley Trio and a cadre of very special guests, this album release show is going to be an incomparable musical experience to remember.
